Join Boulder-based international nonprofit Global Greengrants Fund for the local premiere of “Not Without Us.” Made by the same team that brought us the acclaimed Colorado River documentary “Watershed,” this action-packed film follows Nnimmo Bassey, a renowned Nigerian environmentalist (and the chair of Global Greengrants Board of Directors), and six other grassroots activists as they head to Paris for the U.N. climate talks, or COP21. The Paris talks culminated in an accord signed by 196 nations and touted by mainstream media as a historic success. But what kind of accord was adopted? An agreement that will embrace all of humanity, or one full of non-binding proclamations tailored to for-profit multi-national corporations? Ultimately, the question remains: can the COP21 agreement stop catastrophic climate change? Perhaps we need to call upon our most powerful renewable natural resource: the will of the people.
