Evidence-Based Decision-making as a Practical Tool

How can organizations use the data they collect to actually shape decision-making and action? It’s a deceivingly simple question, yet organizations often fail to act on the data that they collect.

Join this Development Dialogue, led by IDinsight, to explore this key question. IDinsight is a global development organization that helps policymakers and managers make socially impactful decisions using rigorous evidence. They will share several examples that demonstrate what kind of change is possible when organizations ask the right questions, collect good data, and then use that to inform how they work. Drawing from work in Africa and India, examples will range from readily-available data that simply requires analysis and action, to more intensive forms of evaluation such as impact evaluation and randomized control trials. We’ll make plenty of time for discussion and will apply this evidence-based framework to the questions and challenges presented by attendees in their work.
