Posner Poverty Hack

  •  July 15, 2015 - July 17, 2015
     4:00 PM - 4:30 PM

From July 15-17, 2015, the Posner Center will host the Posner Poverty Hack in partnership with the Biennial of the Americas, where individuals will work in teams in an effort to create innovative solutions to international development challenges faced by three Posner Center Tenants (iDE, Grassroots Global Development Foundation, and CU Peru), specifically related to solar water pump financing and agriculture, post-disaster housing, and healthcare and communications technology. A dozen teams will spend 2.5 days trying to tackle the three challenges to come up with innovative solutions. We’ll go through a process to select a winning idea, and the organization with the winning team will actually receive funding to see the idea implemented in the field. Tenants, Members, and those interested in participating on teams are invited to join us for the whole event. All those who are unable, including the general public, are invited to join us for the opening night networking happy hour from 7:00 PM to 10:00 PM on Wednesday, July 15.
