Global Forecasting: A Tool for Analysis and Practice

Hosted by the Posner Center
This event is open to Tenants & Members only

The Frederick S. Pardee Center for International Futures at the University of Denver hosts the International Futures (IFs) model, which is one of the most sophisticated and comprehensive integrated assessment platforms available to the public. The Pardee Center uses this platform to provide integrated, long-term projections and analysis on global trends to a variety of clients, including UNDP, USAID, and many others, to help them understand and better plan for global development in a more systematic way.

Join us to gain an understanding of what IFs is, how it works, and the types of thinking and analyses it enables. Then, we’ll delve more deeply into actually using the system, including sourcing questions from those in attendance. We’ll see how organizations can pull data from this database, make comparisons with neighboring or peer countries to determine appropriate targets, and identify the relationship between different inputs and the resulting outcomes. We’ll engage in a dialogue about this forecasting model, and what kind of learning it enables. Participants will learn how to access the IFs model and will have a very basic understanding of how this tool can be used (there’s an entire graduate course on how to use this platform). Attendees will also leave with new ways of thinking about the work in which you are engaged and what kinds of change it’s promoting today and into the future.

Please RSVP.
