Strategies for Sustainable Vegetable Growing

Join Denver Urban Gardens for an in-depth exploration into the most important aspects of organic gardening and will prepare you for a successful season. Topics include: soil and amendments, weeds, pests and diseases, beneficial insects, harvesting and post-harvest handling. Some exposure to gardening is recommended, but this workshop is open to beginning and advanced gardeners alike. The workshop will take place Saturday & Sunday, April 9 & 10, 9am – 4:30pm on both days at the Horse Barn (1031 33rd Street, Denver, CO).

Speakers include:
Dr. Tamla Blunt is an Extension Specialist for Diagnostics at Colorado State University and the Director of the Plant Diagnostic Clinic.
Carol O’Meara is a Horticulture Extension Agent-Entomology for CSU Extension in Boulder County.
Dr. Jean Reeder is a Soil Scientist retired from USDA-ARS and is affiliate faculty at CSU.
Mary Small is the State Master Gardener Coordinator for CSU Extension and Extension Agent focusing on Urban IPM in Jefferson County.
