🗣 TRAINING: Gender, Peacebuilding, and Human Security with Urooj Mian is happening in April 2023
The course will explore the concept of gendered human insecurity as related to war, political violence and peace building. Feminist approaches to peace, conflict and security will be used to explore militarization, social inequalities, and impacts on peace building. The course will bridge theory with practice discussing challenges, implementation and critiques facing the Women Peace and Security (WPS) agenda. Tangible examples will be showcased including the study and utility of national action plans and the part of civil society organizations in forwarding the WPS agenda. Effective and ‘gender-conscious’ operationalization in peace building will be studied exploring methods of gender inclusion in policy, institutional practice, and in the pursuit of durable peace.
