Join a Posner Center Community of Practice
What is a Community of Practice?
A Community of Practice (CoP) is a member-led group of people who share a common area of interest, professional focus, or set of questions and who come together to learn from one another, exchange ideas, build relationships, and explore collaboration. CoPs can take many forms—discussion-based, skills-focused, project-oriented, or exploratory—and they evolve organically based on the interests and energy of their members.
Why this matters:
Communities of Practice are one of the most popular and energizing ways to engage at the Posner Center. They create natural pathways for connection, collaboration, and participation—bringing people together around shared interests and strengthening the Posner Center community as a whole.
How it works:
These groups are self-organized, self-managed, and self-directed.
Each CoP determines its own focus, meeting cadence, format, and activities.
Each CoP has a Chair or Co-Chair(s) who take responsibility for convening the group, providing leadership, and drafting a short description of the CoP and its goals.
Participation in a CoP requires Posner Center membership or tenancy.
If you are not yet a member or tenant, please join us! All new tenants and members should attend an in person orientation. The Posner Center hosts orientation each week on Mondays at 11 am.
We will assist Chairs and Co-Chairs with IT systems, shared folders, and other Posner Center resources, but leadership of each CoP rests with its Chairs.
