  •  May 5, 2015
     1:00 PM - 3:00 PM

Summer internships are around the corner. Would you like to fire up your organization with some fresh ideas and perspective? Have you thought about hosting an intern? Interns are a great way to add value to your organization and give back to the community. In terms of both today’s workload and tomorrow’s workforce, starting an internship program is an excellent way to facilitate success at your small- or medium-sized business.

Creating a successful internship program requires some thought and planning. Now is a great time to create a strategy for hiring a summer intern. College students are looking in March, April and May for summer opportunities.

During the workshop, Jennifer Manhoff from Colorado Heights University will provide participants with strategies for creating a mutually beneficial internship opportunity. Employers and interns have a lot to offer each other. Learn how to harness the energy of interns to increase productivity while engaging them in gaining valuable experience. Internships are a learning tool but employers have an opportunity to benefit in many ways when the right structure is in place.

Some take aways:

  • How to create a compelling internship description
  • What ground work to lay at your organization before hiring an intern
  • Compensation – are unpaid internships legal?
  • How to access local talent
  • Much more!

Jennifer Manhoff is the Director of Career Development at Colorado Heights University. Jennifer initiated the career development program and manages the internship program. She also actively engages employers in speaking on campus and posting jobs and internships.
